Trails and routes can be found on your favourite cycling apps. Local bike shops are also a great resource to direct you to appropriate rides for your style and skill level.
That’s totally up to you! Of course, you will likely be more comfortable and capable on your own bike, but if hauling a bike on your vacation doesn’t sound ideal, many bike shops and outfitters will offer ebikes and regular bikes for rent near trail centres, so you can get your shred on with less hassle.

Alberta is home to the Badlands Gran Fondo, the Jasper Gran Fondo, Chinook Classic, DV100 as well as the full Alberta Bicycle Association race schedule if you’re looking for categorized road, mountain, cyclocross and BMX racing. There is also a burgeoning gravel scene, with more and more events popping up every year.
Cyclists under the age of 18 must wear an approved bicycle helmet. If you have children and pull them in trail-a-bikes or trailers, they must also wear an approved bicycle helmet.
